Lithium's contribution to export earnings was approximately US$2.159 billion, accounting for 45.6% of the total mineral sales. This performance places it ahead of platinum group metals (PGMs), which generated around US$1.729 billion, or 36.5% of total sales. Spodumene, a form of lithium, was the largest individual contributor within the lithium sector, generating about US$1.812 billion.

The Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ) attributed lithium's strong performance to government-led beneficiation initiatives and producer investments. The sale of lithium sulphate alone generated US$190.52 million, highlighting the growing impact of further processing on export revenues.

Overall mineral sales volume also saw an increase of 23.4%, rising from 3.840 million tonnes to 4.738 million tonnes. Other minerals, including ferrochrome, chrome concentrate, steel, granite, and diamonds, also recorded growth in both value and volume. The MMCZ cited increased mineral beneficiation, higher global commodity prices, new market development, production increases, and efforts to curb mineral leakages as key factors behind the overall export boom.
