General Motors will include native North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports on all its 2027 model-year electric vehicles, Electrek reports. This means Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC EVs will plug directly into Tesla Superchargers and other NACS-compatible fast chargers without an adapter.
The 2026 Cadillac Optiq and the upcoming Chevrolet Bolt EV already feature the NACS port. For the 2027 model year, vehicles like the Cadillac Escalade IQ, Chevrolet Silverado EV, and GMC Hummer EV will come standard with the port.
Most 2026 GM EVs still require a $275 adapter to use NACS chargers, as they are equipped with CCS1 ports. Owners of 2027 models will need separate adapters for CCS1 DC fast chargers ($189) and J1772 Level 2 chargers ($67).
